The New Brikka is an updated version of the Brikka that does away with the old weighted valve system and instead uses flow restriction technology to create crema. It also features a flexible silicone valve/diaphragm and produces Consistent crema when dark roast beans are used. It requires trial and error to achieve good crema and flavour for each type of beans, and the pressure building can cause a geyser during brewing. Customers have praised its ability to produce a nice crema and make Consistent espresso every time. Learning how to use it is a breeze once you figure out the correct grind size and water temperature. However, some customers noted issues with the aluminum peeling off, paint chipping off, and some usability issues leading to coffee spilling or burning.
