Question:
Does it have security pins?
Answer: At least 1 spool. I’ve picked a couple and while feedback isn’t always perfect in used padlocks they both have had at least 1 spool while one had 2. Pin 1 looks like steel for drill protection; not sure why anyone would drill the lock when it’s so easy to cut off. -

Abus website says shackle dia. is 9/32'. Is this including the plastic cover or no? Thanks
Answer: That does include the cover, the steel part of the shackle is approx. 7/32' -
Question:
I would like to use this on a crab pot. Is it resistant to saltwater?
Answer: I haven't used this lock but I have been a commercial fisherman all my life. Nothing made of metal with small parts will survive salt water. It will corrode and seize up just like everything else. -
Question:
What is the inside length of the lock's shackle? I want to use it as a bike cable lock.
Answer: 13/16' (horizontal clearance) by 7/8' (vertical clearance). We will fix the picture with the dimensions, it seems like it's completely off. We apologize for the inconvenience. -

How sturdy are the keys, will they bend easily if the lock is cold/frozen?
Answer: Sturdy enough, whether they bend will depend on how much force is applied if the lock is frozen. -

Answer: Most of our locks are made in Germany (as well as most of the components) and then the lock is assembled in the USA. It really depends on the model. -

Answer: Yes, you can write on the lock with a Sharpie or paint. -

Does anyone have experience with this lock in an ocean environment? We have high salt conditions here.
