Answer: Bowls are very heavy. Base is just as thick as sides (which is thick). Not convexed. Inside is pretty deep - almost too large for individual salad bowl, but I am happy with them. -

Answer: When I look at the product description, it says the diameter is 5". That matches the dimensions I remember from when I gave these bowls as a gift several years ago.
