However, if water leaks out of the top when the vent is open, it indicates dirt is stuck in the valve seat or the valve is defective. The vent valve cannot be cleaned; it is recommended to buy a new one and install a ball valve between the 400 and air out for future servicing. The vent valve has excellent, solid Construction with a metal screw cap. It is easy to install with 1/8 NPT threads and a machined hex on the base for easy uninstallation. The key benefits of this vent valve are effortless air-venting, no gurgling sounds in the pipes, and the ability to operate with a minimum pressure of 10 psi. The product also comes at an affordable price and can function all 24/7. Nevertheless, the caps should be tightened to prevent air from getting into the system, and users may need fittings to connect to the 3/4" nipple.
