The battery is not designed to be replaceable. The light has three settings: dark until movement, dim until movement, dim all the time. The solar LED light is well-made, easy to install and has a reasonable price, making it a great value buy. It is very bright and comes in a small size for easy installation. One reviewer liked that it lights up the night very brightly with power, and they have installed them over every window outside of their house. However, some reviewers found the sensitivity too high as it can be triggered by car headlights. One light stopped working after four days of use.
