The Philips Hue Dimmer Switch has received mixed feedback from customers. While some customers rave about its ease of installation, reliability, design, and the fact that it works with any dimmable Hue lights, others have raised some concerns about its design, magnets, and app integration. A customer bought two of the switches but one of them was defective. The overall design has also been criticized for being flimsy, and if not placed securely on the base plate, the remote might slip off easily. One pro is that the new model switch now has magnets, which wasn't in the prior model dimmer switch. It also includes a new Hue button which will turn on light scenes based on the time of day. Customers who use it in Hubitat environment say their experience has been amazing. However, turning off selected light when long pressed is not available, and customers are limited to All Lights Off and either scene cycle or time-based scenes for the Hue button. Some customers also expressed concerns about the app integration, as the scene iCons don't match the actual colors and the switch limits scene cycling to five instead of a higher limit offered with the Tap switch.
