Customer Questions & Answers
-
Question:
What are Raw Pepitas and how are they different from regular pumpkin seeds?
Answer: Raw Pepitas are the edible seeds of the pumpkin, specifically the hull-less variety, meaning they are sold without their outer shell. This difference makes them easier to consume and incorporate into various dishes. Unlike regular pumpkin seeds, which require shelling, Raw Pepitas can be enjoyed straight from the bag, making them a convenient and nutritious snack option. They are rich in nutrients such as magnesium, zinc, and healthy fats, making them beneficial for heart health and overall wellness. -
Question:
How can I use Raw Pepitas in my cooking?
Answer: Raw Pepitas are incredibly versatile and can be used in numerous ways. You can sprinkle them on salads for added crunch, blend them into smoothies for a nutrient boost, or mix them into oatmeal and yogurt for a flavorful topping. They can also be used in baking recipes, enhancing cookies or bread with a nutty texture. Furthermore, they make an excellent addition to homemade granola or energy bars, providing both taste and nutrition! -
Question:
Are Raw Pepitas healthy compared to other snacks?
Answer: Yes, Raw Pepitas are a healthier alternative to many common snacks. They are low in carbohydrates while being high in protein and healthy fats, which can help you feel satiated longer. Rich in antioxidants and minerals like magnesium and iron, they support bodily functions and overall health. Swapping out chips or sugary treats for Raw Pepitas can significantly contribute to a balanced diet while still satisfying your cravings. -
Question:
Can Raw Pepitas be eaten raw, or do they need to be cooked?
Answer: Raw Pepitas are perfectly safe and delicious to eat without cooking. They retain their nutritional value and flavor in their raw form, making them an ideal snack. If preferred, you can roast them at home with a touch of seasoning to enhance their taste further. However, eating them raw offers all their health benefits conveniently and quickly, so enjoy them however you like! -
Question:
Do Raw Pepitas contain allergens?
Answer: Raw Pepitas are generally hypoallergenic, but it’s essential to note that they are seeds and can sometimes cause reactions in those specifically sensitive to seeds. Always check packaging for potential cross-contamination with allergens like nuts or gluten. If you're unsure, conduct a small allergy test or consult a healthcare professional before incorporating them into your diet. -
Question:
What is the best way to store Raw Pepitas?
Answer: To maintain freshness, store Raw Pepitas in a cool, dry place, ideally in an airtight container. This helps preserve their flavor and nutritional content.
