The mute button is silent and the soft-side carrying case ensures the safety of the products. However, it does not come with an XLR cable which must be bought separately. One may be able to store a 3' cable in the extra block of foam that comes with the case. One user reported that the microphone cut out for a millisecond while being used but it's most likely that the user pressed the button accidentally.
