The Maruman N248 Ring Notebook set of 5 is an excellent buy at a great price for a Japanese import. The cardboard cover is thick and sturdy, and the coils are robust. The grid pattern is uniform, printed the same on each sheet and on each side. The quality of paper is amazing, perfect for use with an average rollerball or fountain pen as it doesn't bleed through. However, it may not be the best choice for writing with fine-tip markers as they tend to bleed through the pages. While the paper in the Mnemosyne notebooks is a tiny bit better, the paper in these notebooks is still smooth and great for everyday use. The notebook is A5 size, grid-ruled, and spiral-bound. The perforated sheets make it easy to tear out pages when needed. The grids are approximately five small squares/inch, 6 squares/3 cm. Excellent for note-taking, doodling or diagramming, and UX sketching, this notebook is perfect for fountain pen ink. The spiral binding allows for it to lay flat with ease. It is a go-to staple notebook for many, and a great addition to classrooms, work, meetings or to simply capture your thoughts on paper.
