Answer: Yes, the bobbin has to rotate in order for the cotton to stitch with the upper thread. -

Could this model comfortably/easily sew a queen or king size quilt in free motion?
Answer: Never tried... but on saying that, I think this machine could do that! -

Answer: I have not been able to check the wattage. But... it does have a self-threader.
